James E. Lilley, Sr. age 80, of Alliance, passed away at 2:43 a.m. Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born June 26, 1929 in Moundsville, West Virginia, to Earl and Evalena (Givens) Lilley.
James was employed by the Armour's Company in Alliance until his retirement and was an Amature C.B. and Ham Radio Operator. He enjoyed hunting, playing board games, eating out, and flirting with the ladies. A member of the Alliance Bowling Association, he also volunteered for the Carnation Triathalon.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda (Anthony) Confalone of Canton, Barbara (Randall) Seibert of Minerva, and Ruth (Larry) Mangus of East Rochester; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; four bothers, Virgil (Goldie) Lilley of Moundsville, WV, Carl Lilley of North Benton, Harry (Elnor) Lilley of Aurora and Russell (Shirley) Lilley of Alliance; sister, Mary Jane Thomas of North Benton; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Earl Lilley, Jr.; and a daughter, Betty Jane Ward.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffrey W. Caldwell of the Maranantha Church of God officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
