James A. Magrath, age 91, of Alliance, passed away at 4:00 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2015, in the comfort of his home.
He was born June 13, 1923, in Alliance to Willis and Sarah (Flinn) Magrath.
James was a 1941 Alliance High School graduate, an Army Air Corps veteran and was employed at Alliance Machine as a machinist for 38 years.
He was a member of the Bolton United Methodist Church and was an avid fisherman and detectorist and also enjoyed buying, selling and trading antiques.
Survivors include his wife Helen whom he married February 28, 1954; son, Mike (Gloria) Magrath and grandson, Andrew Magrath.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Brion Magrath.
Private family services will be held. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
