James Mulinix, age 77, of Alliance, died at 10:00 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born April 17, 1935, in Alliance, Ohio, to Raymond and Louise (May) Mulinix.
James attended Alliance Public Schools and was employed as a pipefitter at Transue and William Forging Plant until his retirement.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Canada. He received a patent from the U.S. Patent Department for a quick loading device for black powder weapons called the "Jim Dandy Quick Loader" which were machined by hand, and he also crafted handmade knives. He enjoyed taxidermy for which he built his own forms, was a wild game curator and formerly had a deer farm.
Survivors include his wife, Helen (Yamamoto) Mulinix, of Alliance, whom he married September 27, 1955; daughter, L. Jean Mulinix of Alliance; two sons, Wesley Mulinix of Alliance and Michael Mulinix of Montana; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Lloyd of Sebring; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Suzenlyn Sines Kitchel; three brothers; and three sisters.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2013, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
