James J. Ott, age 83 of Alliance, died at 9:13 a.m. Sunday, March 30, 2008 following a brief illness at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born October 5, 1924 in Benwood, West Virginia, to James Carl and Goldie May (Loy) Ott and resided in Alliance the last 68 years.
James was a supervisor for 44 years at the former Alliance Ware/Crane Company.
James is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Wagner) Ott of Alliance whom he married August 21, 1944; children, Jim (Carol) Ott and David (Cheryl) Ott, both of Alliance; grandchildren, Jason (Marie) Ott, Misty (Charlie) Sampson and Shelby (Matthew) Mille'; great grandson, Riley Sampson; and three siblings, Norma Foster, Carl Ott and Frank Ott, all of Moundsville West Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Norval, Wanda Lee, Robert, Francis and Victor.
Private Family Services will be held. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 885 S. Sawburg Road, Suite 106, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
