James E. Rininger, age 71, of Hartville, passed away at 12:14 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021.
He was born May 19, 1950 in Alliance, Ohio to Donald and Virginia M. (Sponseller) Rininger.
A graduate of Marlington High School, Jim worked at Transue Williams in Alliance, and Schumacher’s in Hartville.
He served on the Hartville Fire Department for 37 years, most recently as Captain.
He was a member of the Stark County Goat Committee, the NRA, and the Fireman’s Association.
Jim will be missed by his family, including his children; Amy Gardiner, Carrie (Ron) Neff, and Donald Rininger; brother, Bruce (Cora) Rininger; grandchildren Maranda Neff, Sean Rininger, Mackenzie Rininger; nieces and nephews, Kimberly (Eric) Kuhn, Brittani (Joe) DiPietro, David (Katrina) Ray, Katrina (Marcus) Stenson, Aaron (Adrianna) Ray, and Kylee (David) Simmons; great nieces and nephews, Nathaniel Kuhn, Colton DiPietro, Morgan DiPietro, Jase Ray, Emsley Ray, Zakkai Ray, and Ayden Simmons; and many cousins, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his parents, his granddaughter, Amber Rininger-Garner, and his niece Jessica Rininger.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the Alliance Church of Christ with David Ray officiating. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
A Firefighter’s Last Call service to honor Jim will be conducted by the Stark County Firefighter’s Association.
