James Teeters, age 77, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023 after his battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born on October 3, 1946, in Alliance, to Dr. John W and Alma (Tierney) Teeters.
A graduate of Marlington High School and Kent State University, Jim retired from the Carpenter Shop at Kent State.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Jim also taught English as a second language, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, VISTA and the Alliance Community Hospital.
Those left to cherish his memory are his nieces and nephews, Elizabeth A. (Steve) Jarvis, Gregory M. Wachunas, Sarah Wachunas Bigelow, Tierney L. Teeters Bratten, Sarah J. (Mike) Oakes and Ryan Teeters; several great nieces and nephews; two great-great nephews; brother-in-law, Bob Egan; and sisters-in-law, Diana and Connie Teeters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cheryl Egan; brothers, Thomas and David Teeters; nephew, Aaron Teeters; and an infant sister.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday January 20, 2023 at Fairmount Memorial Park.
