James E. Williamson, age 81, of Alliance, Ohio, passed away at 9:27 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center.
He was born August 1, 1934, in Sistersville, West Virginia, to Ralph and Artie (Light) Williamson and lived in the Alliance area most of his life.
James was a graduate of Alliance High School and employed at Morgan Engineering for 34 years.
He attended Alliance Church of the Nazarene and was a member of the Sebring VFW, Alliance Eagles and the American Legion.
James was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Lois (Montgomery) Williamson whom he married August 8, 1957; granddaughter, Sarae Williamson of Circleville, Ohio; two sisters, Patricia Edwards (Nick) Wirth of Canton and Hilda (John) Myers of Alliance; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Williamson; daughter, Cindy Sue Williamson; and a brother, Jack Williamson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Kimble officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, 2015, and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
