Jane M. Ruth

Jane Mae Ruth, age 81 of Alliance, died at 5:40 p.m. March 22, 2006 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born Nov. 29, 1924 in Alliance, Ohio to Henry and Lura (Scott) Alzner and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Ruth graduated in 1943 from Alliance High School and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church. She was also member of the Elks 467, past president of Elks Widows; and member of the Sisters widow group.
Survivors include one son, David S. (Linda) Ruth of Alliance; daughter, Martha A. (William) Reed of Kokomo, Indiana; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roderick S. Ruth, whom she married in Feb. 1943, and who died Feb. 26, 1989; one son, William R. Ruth, three brothers, William, Robert and James Alzner, and two grandsons, Chad and Mark Ruth.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Gordon Ruggles officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
