Jane Ellen Woods, age 84, of Alliance, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Canterbury Villa.
She was born in Lorain, Ohio, March 1, 1923, to Ruel and Gertrude Baumbaugh Wissinger and lived in Alliance since 1977.
Mrs. Woods was a graduate of Lorain High School and attended the former McKinley Business College in Canton. She retired from the former Universal Co-Operatives of Alliance in 1983 after working as a Data Processor.
She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her two sons, Howard A. (Joyce) Kirk of Canton and David C. (Diane) Kirk of Girard; and four granddaughters, Brenda (Matt) Oatley, Lori (Mike) Chunko, Rochelle (Elisha) Walton, Rosalyn Thomas and one grandson, Kendall Reviere; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Ben Kirk who died in 1964, George Montgomery, who died in 1974 and Henry F. Woods, who died in 1994; brother, Warren R. Wissinger and sister, Violette Grossner.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2007, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Mr. Cliff Baum, Elder of Cornerstone Christian Church officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem United Methodist Church, 14113 Salem Church Road, N.E., Alliance, Ohio 44601 or the Northern Ohio Hemophilia Foundation, 1 Independence Place, 3807 Rockside Road, Suite 380, Cleveland, Ohio 44131.
