Janet L. Earnest age 80 of Alliance died at Select Specialty Hospital at Akron General Medical Center at 7:20 p.m. October 8, 2003.
She was born in Atwater, Ohio on October 13, 1922 to Thomas Paul and Bessie (Stroup) Webster.
Mrs. Earnest lived most of her life in the Alliance and Atwater areas. A graduate of Avonworth High School in Ben Avon, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Earnest attended the University of Pittsburgh, and graduated from the Grace Martin Secretarial School. She spent her career working as an Executive Secretary.
A member of Christ United Methodist Church, she was active with the Adopt-A-Reader program, and member of O.E.S. Chapter 296 of Alliance, and the Alliance Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors includes two daughters Sue Hill, and Bonnie (Ed) Anderson, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one brother Boyd (Jean) Webster, and one sister Doris (Robert) Wentzel.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Butler, her second husband, Glen W. Earnest, who died Sept. 10, 2003, her daughter Susan Anderson, and brother Tom Webster Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, with Rev. Hugh Hookway and Rev. David Hostetler officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
