Janet E. Haymaker

Janet E. (Hawkins) Haymaker, age 89, of North Canton, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at St. Luke Lutheran Home.
She was born December 30, 1926, in Alliance, Ohio, to Guy and Olga (Cox) Hawkins.
Janet graduated from Alliance High School. She worked in the family restaurants, Gary's Colonial House, The College Inn and retired from the Buckeye Village Bakery.
She was a member of the Union Avenue United Methodist Church, and Alliance Mended Hearts. Janet liked to read, do puzzles, play Farkle, and go out to eat.
Janet will be greatly missed and remembered by her daughter, Donna (Art) Downs; grandchildren, Hillary Johnston (Ken Hudak), B.J. (Danielle) Baker, Adam (Marcie) Downs, and Michelle Hefner; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Maya, Tristan and Alyssa; great-great-grandsons, Liam and Tyler; and several nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 64 years, Charles "Jim" Haymaker, daughter, Sharon Hefner, and three brothers, Donald, Duwayne and Dean Hawkins.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
