Jean A. Russell, age 73, of Alliance, died at 10:15 a.m. Feb. 24, 2007 at Alliance Community Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 1, 1933 in Alliance, Ohio to Henry and Jane A. (Nelson) Kloos and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Russell graduated in 1951 from Alliance High School and was employed as a secretary at Alliance Machine Company until her retirement after 30 years of service.
A member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jean was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #296 of Alliance.
Jean enjoyed cross-stitch, needlepoint, being with her grandchildren, and her Grandma's sweethearts, her cats and dogs.
Survivors include her son, Keith R. (Sherry) Russell of Alliance; step-son John L. Russell III of Cleveland; two grandsons, Wayne Nieman and Jack Russell; brother, Raymond N. (Barbara) Kloos of Fairfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard B. Russell, whom she married Jan. 5, 1963, and who died March 4, 1967, and two infant brothers.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Gross Jr. officiating. Friends may call one and one-half hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stark County Humane Society, P.O. Box 7077 Canton, Ohio 44705.
