Jean G. Bair

Jean G. (Pert) Bair, affectionately known as “Grumpy Bair”, age 77, of Alliance passed away on May 4, 2021.

She was born on April 11, 1944 in Ferryden, Scotland to Annie (McLean) and William Pert.

Jean graduated from Montrose Academy in Scotland. She worked for Central Café in Scotland and Stuckis Restaurant in Wilmot, OH before retiring from Manhattan Cleaners in Alliance. Jean enjoyed knitting, reading, bowling and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Karen (David) Summers and Linda (Kevin) Oblisk; step-daughter, Darla (Rob) Chaffin; grandchildren, Kurtis and Kenzie Oblisk and Brieann and Drew Lare; 7 step-grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her loving family in Scotland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charlie, Bruce and Billy Pert; loving companion Darl Mosby; and their dog, Billy.

A celebration of life will be held at her home on Saturday, May 8th from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes will be spread at Scurdyness Lighthouse in Ferryden, Scotland.
