Jean Francis Kile
Jean Francis Kile, age 85 of Salem, died at 9:07 p.m. Saturday May 14, 2005 at her home.
Mrs. Kile was born Aug. 10, 1919 in North Benton, Ohio to Walter and Mary (Boohecker) Miller and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a graduate of Alliance High School and attended Grove City College.
Mrs. Kile was a member of North Benton Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Church Women's Association, an Elder of the church and clerk of session. Jean was a 4-H advisor for the SuJettes, member of the Sebring Garden Club and past president of the Goshen Band Boosters. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, Christian and inspirational music but spending time with her family was most important to her.
She is survived by her husband David of Salem whom she married September 2, 1939; a son David (Nancy) Kile of Holland; 5 daughters Barbara (Karl) Schenk of Salem, Carol (Ron) Cooke of Cincinnati, Katherine Eshelman of Salem, Margaret (James) Hilles of Berlin Center and Fanny Fernandez of New York City; twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; a sister Margaret Ament of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at North Benton Presbyterian Church Pastor Jim Henkel officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one-half hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Lumberton Cemetery.
