Jean Ann Newhouse

Jean Ann Newhouse, age 89, of Alliance, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Bethany House in Canton.

She was born October 7, 1932 in Sebring, Ohio to Harold and Fern (Shipman) King.

A 1951 graduate of Sebring High School, Jean worked as a Front-End Supervisor at Kmart.

A member of the Science Hill Community Church, Jean was also a member of the Alliance Elks.

In her younger days, she enjoyed traveling to Florida with her girlfriends. An avid golfer, Jean loved shopping, cooking, animals, and music. While at Bethany House, Jean learned to love playing Bingo.

Jean was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by her son, Greg (Andrea) Newhouse, granddaughter, Amanda (Glen) Wernke, step-granddaughter, Avery Savage, sister, Doris (Carl) McGaffick, and brother-in-law, Larry Beck.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Deborah Ann, her husband Paul L. Newhouse, whom she married May 19, 1962, and who died January 12, 2014, sisters, Marsha Beck and Florence (Lewis) Borton, and brother, James (Betty) King.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Truax officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Jean will be laid to rest privately at Highland Memorial Park.
