Jean Rodgers, age 81, of Homeworth, O. died at her home Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 8:40am with her family by her side.
She was born April 15, 1930, in Alliance, Ohio, to Burdell and Beulah (Mani) McCausland.
A graduate of Sebring High School, Jean worked at United Cooperatives for ten years, before becoming a full-time mother, secretary for her husband Joe's business, and homemaker.
She was a member of Community Bible Church and Mile Branch Grange. Jean loved spending time with her family and camping friends, especially Carnation Sam's Chapter 57 Camping Club.
She enjoyed outdoor activities; including mowing the yard, feeding the hummingbirds, and watching her grandchildren's sporting events. Jean was a great cook and enjoyed baking.
Survivors include her husband, John Joseph "Joe" Rodgers, Jr. whom she married June 27, 1948; sons, Randy (Molly) Rodgers and Todd (Rhonda) Rodgers, both of Homeworth; five grandchildren, Nathan, Brendan, Ali, Rachel and Tori; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Thelma Kennedy.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Community Bible Church with Pastor Rod Doran officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Church. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
