Jean Ann Shoemaker

Jean Ann Shoemaker, age 58, of Alliance, passed away at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
She was born November 30, 1956, in Alliance, Ohio, to Robert and Margaret (McAlister) Shoemaker.
A 1975 graduate of Marlington High School, Jean received her Bachelor from Akron University in 1979 and her Master later on. She taught Elementary education (2nd and 3rd grade) at the Hartville Elementary School for 31 years. She loved her students and treated them like they were family.
Jean was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for many years and was active on various committees in the church. She enjoyed playing golf with the ladies golf league at Tannenhauf Golf Club. Jean was an avid gardener and also loved nature and art.
Survivors include her parents of Alliance; sister, Carol (James) King of Uniontown; niece, Jennifer (Nick) Roesler of Cuyahoga Falls; nephew, Matthew (Christen) King of Dublin; and a grand-nephew, Nate Roesler.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Pastor Amy Shaw officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday. Interment will be at Marlboro Cemetery.
