Jean D. Smith, age 83, of Alliance passed away at 2:42 p.m., Monday, January 26, 2015, at McCrea Manor.
She was born June 10, 1931, in Alliance, Ohio, to Clarence and Olive (Wright) Brunstetter.
Jean was a 1949 graduate of Paris Township High School and was a homemaker and a caregiver. She was a member of the Silver Park Church of Christ, taught Sunday school and enjoyed reading her Bible. She also raised house plants and was the "Sunshine Lady" at the Alliance Towers.
Survivors include her children, Sandra Elizabeth (David) Braham of Walkertown, N. Carolina, and Alan Edward Smith, Charles Eugene Smith and Lonnie Wayne (Beth) Smith, all of Alliance; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (Bruce) Kuntzman of Salem and Alma (Boyd) Morgan of Diamond and brothers, Alan (Judith) Brunstetter of Akron and David (Sandy) Brunstetter of Washington State.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Smith, whom she married in 1953 and who died in 1995; and sons, Lorin Ray Smith in 1976 and Jim Smith in 2004.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with ministers, Ed Holcomb and Vernon Teagarden officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
