Jean Arlene Wible, age 85, of Alliance, died at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Alliance Community Hospital. Mrs. Wible was born May 1, 1924 in Alliance to Leslie and Hilda (Transue) Loyd. Jean was a 1943 graduate of Alliance High School and a 1946 graduate of Akron City Hospital School of Nursing with a degree in Registered Nursing. She spent the last 6 months of Nurses Training at Nichols General Army Hospital. While there, she was president of the Army Cadet Nurse Group that was stationed there at Louisville, KY. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Alliance. She retired from Alliance Community Hospital in 1980 after working for 25 years in the Obstetrics Department. A Life Member of B.P.O. Elks 467 Auxiliary, she was also a past member of the Retired Nurses Club and Sleepy Hollow Country Club. She enjoyed golf and camping at Lakefront Trailer Park at Paradise. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Eugene) Freconna of Alliance; grandchildren, Dr. Gina (Dustin) Bentz of Madison, IN and Dana (Robert) Fisk of Beloit; and five great grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband Carlos D. Wible whom she married in 1945, and who died Nov. 5, 2005; and daughter Leslie Lynn Wible. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Sue Dehoff officiating. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund at 1141 W. Beech St., Alliance, OH 44601.
