Jerry M. Hons, age 77 of Alliance, died at 10:58 p.m. August 10, 2005 at Canterbury Villa.
He was born April 20, 1928 in Quakake, Pennsylvania to Clarence V. and Sarah (Henderson) Hons and lived in Alliance since 1937.
Mr. Hons worked as a welder for East Manufacturing for 18 years, retiring in 1990. He was formerly employed at B&W for 15 years, and later at Alliance Machine Company.
He was a member of United Commercial Travelers of Alliance #261, Alliance Bowling League at Parkway Lanes, and AARP.
Jerry was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in W.W. II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Taylor) Hons, whom he married July 9, 1950; one son, Gary S. Hons of Alliance; one daughter, Susan L. Howe of Sebring; three grandchildren, Justin and Derek Hons, and Sara Yoho; and two brothers, Donald Hons of Beloit, and Robert Hons of Salem.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Paul Hons, and one sister, Dorothy McConnell.
