Jerry L. Duchon, age 80, of Alliance, died at 9:45 a.m. Sunday at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, O.
He was born January 15, 1931, in Alliance, to Alfred "Shorty" and Evelyn (Drake) Duchon.
Jerry was employed in the family business of Energine Dry Cleaning, and later retired from Babcock and Wilcox Tubular Division after 27 years of service.
He was a member of the Lexington United Methodist church. Jerry loved his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating and his sense of humor will be missed by many.
Jerry was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War in Thule, Greenland.
Survivors include his two daughters, Lynne Duchon and her husband Tim Taylor of Deerfield, Ohio and Kristi (Dan) Crowe of Minerva, Ohio and son Jerry (Kim) Duchon of Beaver Falls, Pa. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; Ryan Duchon, Clay (Stephanie) Duchon, Abbie and Matthew Crowe; two great grandsons; Cole and Grady Duchon and one sister Linda (Al) Stanish of Alliance, O. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Eileen (Humphrey) Duchon.
Services will be held at the Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 11 a.m. Wednesday May 18, 2011 officiated by Pastor Randy Shafer of the 11th St. Church of God in Canton. His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday May 17, 2011 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park.
