Jesse D. Hallett, age 95, of Alliance, died at 4:05 a.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Community Care Center.
He was born August 28, 1916 in Lower Salem, OH, to Carl and Minnie (Kimnach) Hallett.
A graduate of Salem Liberty in Washington County, Jesse worked for Caserta Construction Co. for 24 years and Alliance Appliance Manufacturing for 11 years. He was a member of the Alliance Church of the Nazarene and a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre during WWII.
Jesse is survived by his two sons, Rex A. (Florence) Hallett of Alliance and Milton D. (Cheri) Hallett, of Sebring; daughter, Jessie Sue (Fred) Wells of Marietta, O.; five grandchildren, Milton Hallett, Jr., Jessica Walton, Jacob Hallett, Travis Wells and Valerie Green; ten great-grandchildren; one great- grandchild; and one sister, Wilma Leatherman of Eureka, Illinois.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carrie Hallett; brother, John; sisters, Pauline Poole, Clarice Lee, Mary Buchanan, Juanita Davis and Vera Shuman; and one great-grandson, Asa Hallett.
Friends may call from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Cassaday-Turkle Christian Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. following visitation with Pastor Bobby Williams officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
