Jimmie M. Underwood, age 76, of Alliance, died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2010, at Alliance Community Hospital.
Jimmie was born July 27, 1934 in Russellville, Kentucky to Andrew and Ethel O. (Harris) Underwood.
Jimmie retired from American Steel and later from IGA. He was a member of the National Guard. He was an avid bowler and liked to fish.
Survivors include his companion, Mary Underwood of Alliance; two brothers, Rick (Bonnie) Underwood of Alliance and Roy (Shirley) Underwood of Canton; sister, Mary Blake of Salem; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill; and sisters, Bea, Edie, and Rose.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2010, at Cassaday Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Chester Bryant officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
