Jimmy R. Young, age 61, of Alliance, died at 6:25 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Cleveland Clinic.
He was born, September 16, 1947, in Alliance, to James Young and Carol (Summers) Young Noland.
A 1966 graduate of Alliance High School, Jimmy was employed as an assembly operator at Transue and Williams Stamping Plant and also by Dunham's Sporting Good Company.
Jimmy was a member of the BPOE #467 of Alliance and the William Penn Club. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball, and watching professional sporting events. He especially enjoyed watching his nieces, nephews and great-nephews sporting events.
Jimmy will be remembered by his practical jokes and orneriness. His kind heart and generous spirit will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include the love of his life and best buddy, Brenda L. (Richards) Young, whom he married December 10, 1977; a son, Michael (Kelly) Wallace of Baltimore, Maryland; two grandsons, Bryant and Michael; two brothers, Kenny (Diane) Young and Randy "Turtle" Young, both of Alliance; sisters Peggy (Sal) Colucci of California, Penny (Mike) Rice of Beloit, Jenny Carmen and her significant other, Rick (Whitey) White of Alliance, and Lori (Glen) McClung of Alliance; and loved by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral home with Pastor Larry Murphy of First Church of God officiating. Friends may call informally from Noon to 5 p.m. Monday and formal visitation, with the family present, will be held from 6-9 p.m. Monday.
An Elks service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
