Joan Herderick, age 75 of Alliance, died at 12:20 p.m. May 25, 2006 at her home.
She was born May 14, 1931 in Columbus, Ohio, to Delton Riley and Geneva (Harris) Hensley and was a lifelong resident.
Mrs. Herderick was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Ron Herderick whom she married Febuary 21, 1948; children Larry (Paulette) Herderick of Alliance, Debbie ( Allen ) Smith of Morgantown, WVA, Ron A. Herderick of Alliance, Stephanie (Pastor Dave) Cannon of Mentor-on- the Lake, Ohio and Malissa Miller of Alliance; grandchildren Chris Herderick, Kimberly Staddon, Jason Smith, Todd Herderick and Allison Cannon; four great grandchildren; brother Carl (Margaret) Riley of Gahanna, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Ray Hensley and brother Don Riley.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Cannon officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alliance Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice, 885 S. Sawburg, Alliance, Ohio or Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 4714 Union Ave. NE, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
