Joan (Gustavel) Schroeder Spano, age 97, of Sebring passed away at 6:20 a.m., Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at Essex III in Salem.
She was born January 2, 1918, in Akron, Ohio, to Henry and Lena (Amstutz) Gustavel.
Joan was a 1935 graduate of Minerva High School.
She was a former employee of Strong Enamel in Sebring and Keener Rubber in Alliance. She retired from TRW in Minerva as a core dresser in 1983. Joan was also an Alliance Community Hospital Volunteer.
Survivors include her children, Tony A. (Cynthia) Burkhart of Alliance; Barry A. (Trisha) Schroeder of Salem and Tamara S. (John) Maldoven-Reinhart of Beloit; 8 grandchildren, Joe, Barb, Scott, Randy, Troy, B.J., Seth and Alisandra; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Betz and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister and brother Kenneth.
A Chapel Service will be held at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on January 30, 2015.
