Joan M. Wright, age 74, of Florida, formerly of Alliance, died January 1, 2012 in Canton.
She was born October 15, 1937, in Alliance to Harold T. Wright and Freda M. (Routh) Wright Jurs.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Joan graduated from Mount Union College as a Music Major. She worked as a teacher in Dade County, Florida, where she was much loved. Joan was also one of many professional Harpists, having played in the Broadway version of South Pacific and for members of the "Rat Pack."
She is survived by sister, Joyce (Tom) Cartwright of Canton, three nieces and nephews; five great- nieces and nephews; and three great-great-nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents.
A private service will be held.
