Jo Ann Devan

Jo Ann Devan, age 76, of Dayton, formerly of Alliance, passed away on May 24, 2022 at The Laurels of West Carrolton.

She was born on February 10, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph F. and Elsie (Edwards) FitzGerald.

Jo graduated from Alliance High School in 1964 and attended the former Hannah Mullins School of Practical Nursing. She was a member of Beechwood Christian Church. Jo volunteered making meals at the church and in the nursery. She also assisted the Lexington Township Fire Department with meal preparation and was known for her New Year’s pigs in a blanket.  Jo loved flowers and reading.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cathy Jo (David) Leonard; sister, Barbara (Mark) Reay; three grandsons, David and twins, Daniel and Darik; and two granddaughters, Mellisa and Allison.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles E. Devan who passed in 2014; and her sister, Judith Swift.

A funeral service will be held at First Christian Church on Sunday, May 29th at 4:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Sue Dehoff will officiate.  Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
