Jo Ann Stocker

Jo Ann Ballantyne Stocker, age 91, of Alliance, passed away Thursday afternoon at Brookdale Senior Living in Alliance.

She was born June 7, 1929 to William S. and Kathryn (Watts) Ballyntyne in Alliance.  Jo Ann graduated in 1947 from Alliance High School and went on to attend Mount Union College, where she was a member of the Delta Mu Chapter of Delta Delta Delta Sorority.

Jo Ann was an active member of the Alliance community giving her time to numerous organization such as Alliance Women’s Club serving two terms on the Board of Directors, Coterie, Alliance City Panhellenic Council, YWCA,  Forever Mount Society, Heritage Club of Mount Union, Alliance Country Club, Catholic Woman’s Club, Whist, Hill & Dale Gardeners and Regina Coeli Catholic Church.

Jo Ann and her late husband Keith were always a social duo, who enjoyed strong family relationships along with friendships throughout their lives Those left to cherish her memory are her sister Sandra (Dan) Davia; nieces, Elizabeth (Paul) D’Eramo, Amy (Bill) Rose; great-niece, Megan D’Eramo; great-nephews, Nathaniel Hessberg, William Rose, and Paul William D’Eramo; great-great-niece, Myla Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Murray E. Rhue Jr.; husband Keith F. Stocker, whom she married April 13, 1970 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Denver Colorado, and who passed away December 15, 2019; and sister, Donna J. Ballyntyne.

A private family Mass of Christian burial will be held at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Father Joseph Ruggieri officiating. Family will receive friends and family on Monday July 13 from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. at Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
