Joel E. Palmer passed away at Aultman Alliance Hospital October 29, 2022 with his wife and kids by his side, holding his hands as he went to be with Our Lord to finally rest and breathe easy.
Joel was born October 11, 1961 in Alliance, Ohio to his amazing parents Carl and RuthAnn Palmer. He graduated from Marlington High School and lived in Alliance most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father Carl Palmer whom he respected, admired and cherished with his whole heart. He is survived by his sweet loving mother RuthAnn (Byers) Palmer who taught him the meaning of unconditional love. He is also survived by his dedicated wife of 25 years, Lisa (Fox) Palmer. This marriage lasted on love, a whole lot of patience, and a big sense of humor. Joel valued and never took for granted his four children: Brandy (Steve) Longnecker, Adam (Jenn) Palmer, Josh (Morgan) Palmer, and Lindsey (Austin) Webb. He was so proud of his kids for many reasons but mostly because of the dedication to their own little families. He also leaves twelve grandkids (with another granddaughter on the way in December) and one great grandchild, Carter. To Brendon, Kelsey, Maddy, Ethan, Kayden, Masen, Keegan, Alex, Joey, Beckham, Remi, and Delaney: Papa loves you so so much!
Joel is also survived by three brothers, Mike Palmer, Kelly (Martha) Palmer, and Kevin (Pam) Palmer. He was so blessed to have a lifetime of memories with them. Joel is also survived by one aunt, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joel worked at Wayne Dalton for many years after high school, but his greatest accomplishment was the business he started (Regional Expedite) with his partner of 25 years, Mark Cleland. This business came after years of friendship and was truly like another marriage. They always treated each other as equals and was the reason behind their success (besides the usual blood, sweat and tears). Joel appreciated all the friendships that developed as a result of the business.
Joel enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing with so many friends and family. He loved that his kids and grandkids liked fishing as much as he and his father did. He also had a passion for demolition derbies. Not just for the derbies themselves, but for the time he had to spend with his son Josh.
Joel, we all love you so so much and will miss you terribly. You were taken from us too soon but we know you are at peace. XOXO
