John M. Courtright 1928 - 2015 of Alliance, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 14, 2015, at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring, Ohio.
He was born June 22, 1928, in Winfield, Ohio, to J. Lester and Elsie (Harshey) Courtright.
After graduating from Winfield High School, he attended Eastern Nazarene College where he met the beautiful Grace Scott (Scottie). After only one year in college he was called into service with the U.S. Army, but he didn't forget his blue eyed sweetheart and when he returned they were married on September 27, 1950.
John retired in 1991 from Superior Dairy. He enjoyed retirement along with Grace, taking a trip to Europe and a cruise to Bermuda. He was an excellent cook and an immaculate gardener, but was never too busy to sit down with a friend or neighbor for a cup of coffee.
He was a member of the Dover Lions Club, obtained 32nd degree through Valley of Canton Masonic Lodge, a Shriner with Tadmore of Akron and a Past Worthy Patron and Chaplain of the Eastern Star. John was a devoted husband, loving brother and uncle.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Robert, James, George and Floyd.
John leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 65 years, Grace; his sisters-in-law, Helen (Scott) Lowe, Ann Courtright and Evie Courtright; and nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private memorial service with interment at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army 57 W. Main St., Alliance, OH 44601 or to the charity of their choice. Condolences may be sent to Mrs. Grace Courtright, 800 South 15th Street Apt 9-256, Sebring OH 44672.
