John R. (Bob) Dixon

John R. (Bob) Dixon, age 60, of Alliance, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015, in Flagstaff, Arizona.
He was born January 12, 1955, in Akron, Ohio, to John E. and Eva (Green) Dixon and was a lifelong area resident.
A graduate of Marlington High School, Bob was owner operator of his construction business, RWJ Corporation.
Bob was a member of the Marlboro Assembly of God. He was also a member of the Tadmor Shrine Center, Alliance Shrine Club, Sebring Masonic Lodge, Alliance Elks No. 467 and many other organizations.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Marty) Dixon of Alliance whom he married December 20, 1982; daughters, Cari (Shawn) Close of Alliance and Kelly (Tad) Gaspar of North Benton; stepson,, Jeff (Renee) Shelton of Akron; seven grandchildren, Randi, Carter, Drew, Wyatt, Raina, Austin, Sophie; one great-grandson, Milo; brother, Bill (Leigh) Dixon of North Canton; and sister, Sally (Chuck) Whinery of Alliance.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor David Hohlbaugh officiating. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
