John W. Elliott

John W. Elliott, age 78, of Carrollton, passed away at 3 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born March 8, 1938, in Maximo, Ohio, to Bill and Margaret (Vesseriat) Elliott.
John was a graduate of Alliance High School and their first class president. He was employed as an x-ray technician at PCC Airfoils in Minerva retiring after 30 years.
He was an actively involved member of Our Lady of Mercy in Carrollton and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Carroll County Council 15401, where he earned his 4th degree. John traveled to all 50 states, except Hawaii, enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
John was a veteran of the United States Army.
Survivors include his daughters, Debbie (Keith) Carle of Minerva, Denise (Jack) Breznak of Rootstown and Dannette (Dave) Poteet of Minerva; grandchildren, Joseph and Hannah Carle, Chad and Cayanne Breznak and Clay, Quaide, Kailer and Ava Poteet; and sister, Peg Willard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Achsa Porter and Blake Larkins.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Maximo with Fr. Anthony Batt officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to mass, at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
