John H. Hildenbiddle Jr., age 89, of Sebring, died at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2007 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born August 10, 1918 in Wheeling, WV to John H. Sr. and Luella (Newhouse) Hildenbiddle and was formerly from Canton.
Mr. Hildenbiddle graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and received his Engineering degree and Masters Degree in Business from the University of Iowa. He was Vice President of Engineering with the Penn Central Railroad before his retirement in 1980.
A U.S. Army Air Corp Captain, he served in England during World War II. He was a former member of ASSN for Industrial Engineers, Salem Country Club, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Masonic Lodge F & AM and Zagasic Temple in Des Moines, Iowa, and attended First Presbyterian Church in Salem, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Helen A. Felton Hildenbiddle of Sebring, whom he married October 10, 1942; sons John (Cate) Hildenbiddle III of Omaha, Neb., and Lee (Martha) Hildenbiddle of New York, NY; grandchildren Jennifer, John IV and Annie; sister Elizabeth Healey of Youngstown; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Katherine Hopkins and Geraldine Hildenbiddle.
Memorial Services will be held in Estes Park, CO at a later date.
