John Lemaster, age 81, of Alliance, died at 7:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at Canterbury Villa.
He was born March 27, 1928 in Alliance to William and Austa (Midcap) Lemaster and was a lifelong Alliance resident.
John was a United States Army Corp Veteran. He was employed by Transue & Williams Stamping plant for 49 years and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers, and a member of the AFL-CIO Lodge 1622.
Survivors include his sons, Roger DeWayne (Sue) Lemaster and Michael Ray (Leanne) Lemaster, both of Alliance; two grandsons, Gregory and Johnathon both of Alliance; two granddaughters, Gayle Lemaster of Minerva, and Kira Freer of Sebring; two step-grandchildren, Eric and Erin Moore; several great grandchildren; and his beloved sister, Hazel E. Eberling of Alliance.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cassie M. Lemaster whom he married December 29, 1949 and who died March 13, 2007; a brother William L. Lemaster; two sisters, Elizabeth Virginia Lemaster and one infant sister.
Services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Dulaney officiating. Friends may call from 12:30-1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
