John R. Meece

John R. Meece, age 71, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born August 11, 1951 in Cincinnati, OH to Hobart and Mary (Merriman) Meece.

John honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and later in the Army National Guard before working as a truck driver for many years as a proud Local Union 407 member.

He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as woodworking.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan (White) Meece; children, Katie (Grant) Porter, Erin (Zachary) Cline, and Jessica (Chip) Konrad; grandchildren, Madison Konrad and Morgan (Matthew) Kenney; and best friend, Brian (Debbie) Cowgill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Marcus Meece.

A private Mass of Christian burial was held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alliance Food Pantry, 215 E. Market St, Alliance, OH 44601, the Alliance Area Domestic Violence Shelter, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
