John Michael, age 88, of Alliance, passed away at 9:25 p.m., Saturday, July 6, 2013, peacefully at his home.
He was born November 20, 1924 in Mercer County, PA to Arthur J. and Emma Viola (Kaufmann) Michael.
A U.S. Army veteran, John was a hammer operator for Transue & Williams for over 20 years and after his retirement; he was the owner of the Jackson Hotel in Minerva.He was a member of the Family Christian Center in Canton and also enjoyed playing cards, horseshoes, bowling and woodworking.
John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Survivors include his sons, Robert (Jane) Ludlam and Thomas G. (Karyn) Ludlam, both of Atwater; daughter, Susan (Kim) Scott of Minerva; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna who passed away in 2009; one sister; and three brothers.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Atwater United Methodist Church.
