John D. Middleton

John D. “Mutch” Middleton, age 78, entered into this world on August 1, 1946 and his earthly journey ended on January 31, 2025 at the veteran’s hospital in Cleveland. 

John was a gift to his parents, William H. Middleton Sr. and Benita (Rhyne) Middleton. He was the eldest of eight children; he leaves to cherish his memory William H. (Kathleen) Middleton Jr., Melvin Middleton, Melvina Middleton, Lenise (Greg) Patton, and Banita Rattliffe. 

John graduated from Alliance High School in 1964 and went to serve in the United States Army. John fought in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1968. 

John enjoyed skating, dancing and shooting pool, but more than anything he loved spending time with his family.

John was united and married with Peaches A. (Blair) Middleton on May 28, 1970. They were blessed with four children, Kindrea Middleton, Jesse Toney, Michele Middleton, Deann (Jason) Fite, and Leron Middleton; and an adopted son, Tramar Middleton. John was also blessed with 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; god-children, Anitra Teli, Rhonda Evans, and Troy Bush; and special friend, John Jenkins. 

Those who journeyed on before him were his parents; two brothers, Dr. Laverne D. Middleton and Michael E. Middleton; and one granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8th at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior. 

He will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Monday.
