John H. Mohr, age 90, of Alliance, passed away at his home at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012.
He was born June 14, 1921 in Alliance, Ohio to Louie J. and Augusta (Bailey) Mohr.
A graduate of Alliance High School, Mr. Mohr worked as a bricklayer for Local #6 in Canton.
An endowment member of the N.R.A., John was a U. S. Navy WWII Veteran; member of American Legion Post 166, charter member of Ohio Federation of Conservation Club. He loved to fish, hunt and bird watch.
His survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann (Burgett) Mohr, whom he married Sept. 21, 1958; sons, John, Michael, Robert and Greg; daughters, Linda Hager, Judith Collins, Vada Beck, and Vickie Blymiller; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Aileen Mazzei.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, George, and sister, Dorothy.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Minister Lawrence Burgett officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 4682 Douglas Circle NW, Canton, OH 44718, American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406-9274, or Alliance Visiting Nurse Hospice Association, 885 S. Sawburg, Alliance OH 44601.
