John Roy Murbach, age 89 of Alliance, passed away at 2:38 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2010 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born October 27, 1920 in Middletown, Ohio to Roy John and Grace (Garmhausen) Murbach.
Mr. Murbach graduated from Ohio State University in 1942 with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and attended Wharton Business College.
John retired in 1982 from Morgan Engineering as plant engineer after 30 years of service.
Mr. Murbach served with the Corp of Engineers in the South Pacific during WWII and was discharged with the rank of Major. He was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nelle R. (Michael) Murbach of 56 years, daughter, Kimberlynne (Kenneth) Hamilton of Brookville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Chandra (Leonard) Marciano of Miami Fla., Tyler Hamilton of Brookville, Ohio and Kara Hamilton of Flagstaff, Arizona; sister, Louise Whitehurst of McKinney, Texas; sister-in-law, June Michael of Centerville, Ohio; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to thank the staff at McCrea Manor for their special care of John for the past 18 months. Their efforts were greatly appreciated.
A private service will be held for the family at a later date in Dayton, Ohio.
