John "Putter" Petersberger, age 58, of Alliance, Ohio, was pronounced dead at his home on Saturday, November 27 at 4:05 p.m.
He was born January 27, 1952, in Alliance, Ohio, to John E. and Ruth Patricia (Mott) Petersberger.
A 1970 graduate of Alliance High School, he was employed by American Steel Foundry until his retirement. He was later employed by Alliance Castings.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 166, and the Dante Club.
He was a United States Army Veteran.
Putter loved riding his motorcycle, hunting, camping, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his three daughters, Suzanne (Jeremy) Bell of Alliance, Natalie C. Petersberger of Jonesborough, TN and Miranda (Nathan) Victor of Atwater; three grandsons, Logan, Trenton David and Roman Daniel; brother, Richard Petersberger of Alliance; three sisters, Miriam (David) McCleese of Kissimmee, Fla., Martha Strickland of Lakeland, Fla. and Margy Petersberger of St. Cloud, Fla; and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Danny.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Friends may call from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be at Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Stark County TASC, 470 E. Market St., Alliance, Ohio 44601.
