John Jacob "Jack" Roesti Jr. age 74 of Alliance went home to be with his lord and savior Jesus Christ at 8:06 a.m. Thursday August 21, 2003 after a long and courageous battle with an extended illness.
He was born in Moultrie, August 30, 1928 to John Jacob and Gladys (Zeigler) Roesti and was a lifelong area resident.
A graduate of Alliance High School, he worked as a meat cutter and butcher starting at Fairmount Provision and working in the meat industry until his retirement as an Ohio Meat Inspector.
He was a U.S. Army WWII veteran, and an instructor at West Point. Mr. Roesti was a lifetime member of the DAV, a member of United Commercial Travelers, Meat Cutter District Union #427, AARP, and was an avid sportsman. He
He is survived by his wife Frances (Pusateri) Roesti, whom he married Feb. 11, 1956, 2 sons John Jacob Roesti III of Sarasota Florida, Michael J. Roesti of Beloit, 3 daughters Marianne (Jim) May of Salem, Diana L. (Randy) Moore of Alliance, Tricia M. (Lonny) Donohoe of Alliance; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a sister Mary Louise Cunin of Alliance.
His parents, brother, Robert D. and his first wife Ruth preceded him in death.
Friends and family may call on Sunday from 6-8 pm at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 am Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Joseph Peters officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park with Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 South Union Avenue Alliance, Ohio.
