John W. Seifert Jr., age 86, of Alliance, died at 3:10 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Canterbury Villa.
He was born July 7, 1925 in Canton, Ohio to John W. Seifert Sr. and Martha (Kuhlins) Seifert.
A graduate of Middlebranch High School, Mr. Seifert worked as a truck driver.
A member of Louisville Baptist Temple, John enjoyed hunting, fishing and flying.
Mr. Seifert was a Staff Sgt. in the U. S. Army, having served during W.W. II.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Eleanor E. (Herrick) Seifert of Alliance; son, John M. Seifert of Alliance; daughter, Connie (George) Miller of Sebring; daughter-in-law, Linda Seifert of Alliance; grandchildren; Michael Miller, Melinda Miller, John P. Seifert, and Nicole Seifert; great-granddaughter, Sophia; sisters, Shirley (Bill) Breit of Marlboro, Joanne (Lou) Gibbs of Louisville, and brothers, Jerry (Janet) Seifert of Uniontown, and Ken (Judy) Seifert of GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Paul Seifert, sister, Lois, and brother, Donny.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Harmon officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
