John Smith

John Edward Smith, age 53, of Sebring, went home to be with the Lord, at 10:40 p.m. August 11, 2005.
He was born in Alliance, Ohio on June 7, 1952 to John William and Maxine (Hill) Smith.
He was employed by Dutchland Greenhouse as a Salesman and Driver, and also worked at the former Phil's Greenhouse. John was the owner and steward for the lord of Uzai Greenhouse of Sebring.
He was a member of the Foursquare Gospel "Mountain of the Lord" Church.
John is survived by his wife and best friend, Nancy Jo (Savage) Smith, whom he married Aug. 25, 1973; one son, John Maynard (Jennifer) Smith of Alliance, one daughter, Katrina Lyn (Stephen) Quinn of Salem; one adopted son, Richard Stouffer of Sebring; seven grandchildren,; sister, Ruth (Michael) Negron of Dunkirk, New York; Martha (Joseph) Huff of Minerva, Kathy (Larry) Welling of Sebring, Norina (Ronald) Riggs of Sebring, Vera Buffington of Lower Salem, and June (James) Ullman of Sebring; brothers, Ronald (Cindy) Smith of Beloit, Curtis (Jamie) Smith of Alliance, Steve Smith of Alliance, and Gregory (Marie) Smith of Sebring, and brother-in-law Dennis Gelmini of Alliance..
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Susan Gelmini, two nephews, Michael Ullman and John Buffington, and one niece, April Gelmini.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Shepherd officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
