John Snyder, age 41, of Alliance, died at 12:35 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2012, at Alliance Community Hospital after a year-long battle with cancer.
He was born May 28, 1970, in Alliance, Ohio, to Edward G. Snyder and Marie (Bichsel) Snyder.
John was a graduate of Western Reserve High School. He was employed as a carpenter for 16 years at the University of Mount Union and formerly worked at Window Pane Glass Company.
He enjoyed farming, loved building things and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Diana L. (Heckman) Snyder, whom he married April 7, 1989; son, Dalton John Snyder and daughter, Lauren Ashleigh Snyder both of the home; mother, Marie Snyder of Berlin Center; siblings, Deborah Brunner of Alliance, Cathy (Mike) Moss of N. Benton, Susan (Tom) Procick, James (Jenny) Snyder Sr., and Mary Hazel (Dan Jenkins), all of Berlin Center; eight nieces; eight nephews; three great-nieces and five great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Norman and Annabelle Bichsel, brother-in-law, Rodney Brunner; grandmother, Susan Hamblen; father, Edward Snyder and niece, Angelmarie Brunner.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012, at Myers Sanctuary at Dewald Chapel at the University of Mount Union with Marty CashBurless, Chaplain, officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Berlin West Cemetery.
