John Streza

John Streza, age 87, of Alliance, died at 11:55 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2007, at Aultman Hospital.
Mr. Streza was born April 7, 1920, in Alliance, to Dan and Eugenia (Tzetzu) Streza and was a lifelong resident.
He was a 1938 graduate of Alliance High School and was a professional baseball player, a minor league manager for 8 years, and a major league scout for 16 years with the Chicago Cubs and the California Angels before his retirement in 1973.
Mr. Streza was a member of St. Theodore's Romanian Catholic Church in Alliance and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by a nephew, Dan Streza.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George Streza who died in 2001, and a niece.
Private Services will be held at the request of John at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Fr. Ovidiu Marginean officiating. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
