Joseph Bartley Garnes, age 78, of Alliance, passed peacefully at his home at 10:03 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2019.
He was born May 1, 1941, in Elkton, Ohio to Ralph and Elma (Parsons) Garnes.
Joe attended Sebring High School and served with the National Guard.
He was the owner of the Ashland Station before working as an Owner/Operator Truck Driver for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie (Watson) Garnes, whom he married August 12, 1967; sons, Kenneth Garnes, and Jason Garnes; grandson, Bartley Garnes; granddaughter, Marisa Mozden; and great-grandchildren, Braydin and Kaydin Garnes, and Maddilynn, Marlee, and Maribelle Mozden; brothers, Lawrence (Carolyn) Garnes and Nelson (Mary) Garnes; all of Alliance; sister, Dolly (Gene) Morrison, of Minerva, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joseph Bryan Garnes; brother, Roy, sisters, Maggie, Edith, and Tiny, and granddaughter, Danielle Garnes.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2019 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, co-officiated by Pastor Freddie Rodriquez and Nancy Castellucci, Celebrant.
Friends may call from 10-11:30 a.m. Monday prior to the service.
Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to Alliance Hospice 2461 West State Street, Suite E, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
