Joseph Kovach III age 71, of Alliance died at 11:45 a.m. Friday December 7, 2007 at Roselawn Terrace.
He was born April 6, 1936 in Alliance, Ohio to Joseph and Helen (Leo) Kovach.
Joe attended Alliance High School and was employed at Alliance Machine Company as a welder for 26 years, before being self-employed at Ko-Jo Welding from 1988-1990. He then worked at Longaberger Basket until his retirement.
A U. S. Navy Veteran, Mr. Kovach attended Trinity Episcopal Church, and was a member of VFW Post 1036, BPOE Elks #467, Alliance Senior Center, Alliance Moose Club, Roma Club, DAV Chapter 50 and former member of Alliance Eagles Club.
He enjoyed walking 3-5 miles a day, going to the Hartville Flea Market, riding around the surrounding area visiting friends and reorganizing the Bolton School Reunion. The highlight of Joe's day was when his special girls, Marissa and Amber would visit him.
Survivors include his loving companion Joyce Krahling of Alliance; son Robert Kovach and grandson Michael Kovach of Alliance; "adopted" daughters Karen Greenawalt of Damascus and Denise Kaser Krahling of Alliance; "adopted" grandchildren Nathan and Shelly Greenawalt of Damascus, Trevor (Sarah) Greenawalt of Stow and Marissa and Amber Kaser of Alliance; sister Betty (Richard) Evans of Alliance; nephew Ed (Debbie) Evans of Damascus, Oregon; three aunts, one uncle, several cousins and one great niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan Kay Kovach, and several aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. William Gross officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
