Joseph D. Leone

Joseph D. Leone, age 52, of Alliance, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022.

He was born May 21, 1970 in Alliance, Ohio to Anthony O. Leone and Sharon D. Buck Leone.

A graduate of Alliance High School, Joe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Christopher Columbus, and Italian American Club. He loved eating and cooking Italian food, laughing, joking and sharing stories with his family.

Joe was a devoted father and grandfather. He was a lifelong baseball coach and umpire, an avid New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers Fan; and loved going fishing with his sons.

He will be forever loved and missed by his family, including his children, Jacqulyn (Brandon) Ashbrook, Jordan Leone, Luca Leone, and Cruz Leone; his grandson, Andrew Ashbrook, brother, Michael (Jennifer) Leone; step-father, Dale Zumkehr; uncle, Dan (Dorothy) Leone; aunt, Darla Kelly, and uncle, Larry (Cricket) Buck, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Leone, his mother, Sharon Zumkehr, and his grandparents, Antonio and Carmella (Reda) Leone, and Clifford and Ethel (Urmson) Buck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 31st at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Dyer officiating.

Friends may call the hour prior to the service at the church.

Following the service at the church, friends may gather at the Christopher Columbus to celebrate Joe’s life by sharing stories and enjoying his favorite Italian foods.

Private interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Joe’s family asks that you share written memories and stories with them; monetary donations may be sent in care of the funeral home to be used for the family’s discretion.
