Joy Sagle Brown

Joy Sagle Brown was born Joy Anne Sagle on February 26, 1927 at Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, Ohio to Guy and Lucy Sagle. Her sunset was peaceful on March 18, 2017, surrounded by her loving children.
Joy had a love of music and books: singing in the church choir and senior choral group in Alliance; librarian at local library and Copeland Oaks and reading on a daily basis.
Joy loved The Ohio State University- spending time there on campus as a student, watching her daughter, grand daughter and two grandsons graduate and later watching many football games. Joy's love of sports also extended to the SEC-only because of her son's football scholarship to Vanderbilt.
Joy has four loving children, who cherish their memories of a truly selfless woman: Marla (Jeff) Barkey, Cindy (Mario) Papadakis, Valerie (David) Ruddock, Eric (Tammy) Brown. She also has 7 grandchildren (Chris, Mike, Erica, Megan, Abby, Nate, Leah) and 9 great grandchildren. She loved each of them in her own special way. Joy has 6 nieces and nephews (Beth, John, Nancy, Jane, Mike, Susan), 14 great nieces/nephews and 5 great great nieces/nephews.
Joy had a deep faith in God and faced her last moments with courage and gratitude for a life well lived. She was a loyal member of many churches, serving as church treasurer for over 35 years, and serving on countless committees that endeared her to many. Joy was very active in many Christian service groups, devoting many hours and philanthropic support.
Joy loved the time spent at Copeland Oaks and forged special memories with her table mates. Joy had many dear friends-she was a true gift from God, always willing to lend a hand or shoulder to cry on.
God saw her getting tired, a cure not meant to be, so he put his arms around her and whispered "Come with Me".
Rest gently, dearest angel Joy. We love you.
A memorial service celebrating Joy's remarkable life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Sebring United Methodist Church. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
